The film focuses on "Bargny", a commune of 70,000 inhabitants in the heart of the Senegalese suburbs, polluted by industrial infrastructures, its population suffocated and its inhabitants threatened by the installation of a coal-fired power station.

Seydou Dieng is the chief of Gaad, a village near Senegal's chemical industry mines. He launches an appeal to the President of the Republic: the echo of his voice is masked by the noxious particles caused by the extraction of minerals. The land, the people and the plants wait, hoping that this cry of distress from the village chief will lead to them being rehoused elsewhere.
